Several weeks ago, when I was comprising my latest post about best free Udemy courses, a troublesome thought occurred to me. I’ve always known it’s a long-tail list since I started. But let’s face it, that’s what it takes to be referred to as “ultimate,” right?
What worries me is that my ultimate list of best free Udemy courses, in the end, is just a list. You might bookmark it. You might choose a course, then you study.
Bam! That’s it.
It’s not gonna save you a lot of time.
That’s not what I sought out to do. My goal is to help other people like me choose a proper course, one that is relevant to their interest and level, in a short amount of time, not adding to the already-existed burden. Then I thought to myself, what if I created another ultimate list of courses, this time with my own opinions for each?
After days of long and hard thinking, I finally set down to finish what I wanted. And guess what?

Pros
Although Artificial Intelligence and similar topics are usually quite challenging and hard to swallow, the instructors offer a wealth of information but still leave rooms for you to wonder. What catches my attention most is the presentation. The instructor impressively acts like a storyteller leading you from one chapter to the next so you won’t need to be worried about getting lost or falling asleep.
Cons
Even though the course is pretty well-presented, on-screen texts could look a little way too small in mobile devices. Also, I personally think the materials are not very specific. The worst part of all is that there is no exercise. I’m the type of person who wants to implement things rather than just watching the lecture videos.

I like how the course starts with the basics, then gradually shows you how to create web components using JavaScript before introducing the Stencil.js framework.
Cons
The instructor of the course, Maximilian Schwarzmüller, though a dedicated teacher, is not a native English speaker, and too bad there is no official subtitle for his videos. As a consequence, if English is not your mother tongue, you’re probably gonna have a hard time comprehending the contents, especially those involving multiple-syllabled computer terms *wide eyes*.

The pace of teaching can feel a bit slow. But what turns me off most is the length of the course. Almost a whole day of lessons put together and no exercises, for god’s sake. You can make sure that everything is explained more than thoroughly though.

Well, it’s hard to sober-study a course about wine. With that thought in mind, I was always holding a cup of alcohol of some sorts whenever I turned on the videos. I know, not a healthy habit.
